It has been approved by the Commission for Productive Activities the bill on Made In. The following are the key features of the measure: 1) A system of mandatory labelling is established for products to be sold to the public. The System applies to the following business sectors: textile, clothing, home furnishing, footwear and leather goods, all key activities of the manufacturing sector. 2) The trademark "Made in Italy" is recognized also for the goods mostly made in Italy, or rather goods for which at least two stages of the manufacturing process are made in Italy. 3) Administrative fines are introduced for violation. The law will enter into force on 1 October 2010, in order to allow the notification to the European Union.
