SIAE and You Tube declare that they have executed a licence agreement which covers the use in Italy, in streaming, of music and audiovisual works belonging to the SIAE repertoire in the videos shown on the You Tube platform. The licence has a three years duration and shall last until December 31st 2012. As a result of the agreement, authors, composers and music editors represented by SIAE will be rewarded when their music is used. This agreement represents an important moment in the activity of protection carried out by SIAE, with the purpose to grant authors and editors a reward that takes into account the intensity of use of their works on a very popular platform, which today represents one of the main vehicles of diffusion and increase of value of the repertoire of music.
