Italy ready to transpose Copyright EU Directive

Italy is ready to transpose the controversial Copyright Directive (EU) 2019/790 come into force on June 7th, 2019. During a parliamentary hearing, Under Secretary of the Italian Council Presidency, Mr. Martella, confirmed that the transposition will take place through the upcoming European Delegation law, therefore in advance of the deadline of June 7th, 2021. Mr. Martella pointed out that the the aim shall be to pursue "the best balance between individual freedom of expression and protection of pluralism of information, also through an equal remuneration of the editorial contents".
