Copyright and links to news published by thirds

Newspaper Licensing Agency (an association of English publishers) won a law suit against Meltwater News and Public Relations Consultant Association (both agencies specialized in online papers review services for companies). The Court accepted NLA's requests, condemning the two agencies to pay a compensation for each click made. In the UK, therefore, it could become necessary to pay copyright fees before linking a news published by thirds, if the company that makes the link uses the news to sell a product. This is the first sentence pronounced by the High Court of Justice on the matter, and the final decision of the copyright specialized court is now awaited in order to make (or not) this decision final.
