The Coordination Committee candidated Mr. Francis Gurry, a national of Australia, to become the next Director General of WIPO. He will be officially appointed by the WIPO General Assembly, to be held at the end of September next. He will become the fourth Director General of WIPO, following Mr. Georg Bodenhausen from the Netherlands, Mr. Arpad Bogsch from the United States, and Dr. Kamil Idris from Sudan.
