The pharmaceutical giant Gilead Sciences Inc has been accused by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders for corporate misconduct regarding the development of its anti-HIV drug called 'Descovy'.
The US Patent and Trademark Office was asked to reject the extension of the drug's patent because Gilead would deliberately delay the development of the drug to make more profits from the previous drug 'Truvada' aware that this cause damage to patients' health.
The decision of the US Office is awaited.
