Norway - extension of the opposition period

On July 1, 2010 the new Trademark Act has come into force in Norway. One of the most significant changes is the extension of the time limit involved in the opposition proceedings from two to three months, allowing holders of prior trademarks to better evaluate possible actions against posterior trademarks alleged similar. The new opposition period of three months applies to all brands published in the local Official Register from July 5, 2010.
