New banknote of 10 Euros

The European Central Bank has today issued a new banknote of 10 Euros in an attempt to limit counterfeiting, which is increasing. The number of counterfeit notes withdrawn in the second half of 2013 grew to 353,000, by 11,4% compared to the first half, says the ECB. According to the ECB, the new banknote will allow a more effective fight against counterfeiting, that however mainly concerns the banknotes of 20 and 50 Euros.
