NEW VICTORY FOR PARMIGIANO REGGIANO

The Parmesan professional association won another battle against the fraud of the American giant of Campbell's soups.
Campbell's, owner of the line of ready-made sauces "Prego", included on certain labels the image of pieces of the famous italian “Parmigiano”.
Furthermore, the "Prego" sauces had parmesan as one of the ingredients on the label, while its composition does not include “parmigiano” which in Italy benefits from the Protected Designation of Oring (PDO).
The name “Parmigiano Reggiano” must necessarily refer to the authentic Italian product, recall the Consorzio.
For these reasons, Campbell has accepted the request to remove from the labels of its products any reference to Parmigiano Reggiano.
