Ministerial Decree dated 27.2.2020 bringing novelties in matter of government identification marks affixed to the DOC and DOCG wines has been published in the GU (Official Journal). Starting from April 23, obtaining the marks shall be faster and less expensive for the wine makers; these latter will be also enabled to order stocks of marks based on the quantity of wine produced, and not once the wine is already certified with the designation of origin. As to DOC and IGT wines, the Decree has further provided for an alternative traceability system, based on an alphanumeric code (instead of the identification marks) impressed on the bottle.
