On 14.12.2023, Italy has filed the instrument of ratification of the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement concerning the international registration of industrial designs, made in Geneva in 1999. The ratification was approved through law n .141 of 09.22.2023.
This ratification will lead to a modification of the art. 155 of the Industrial Property Code relating to the filing of international applications for models and designs.
Following this ratification, the Italian owner of an industrial design or model can obtain protection in the 96 countries that have signed up to the same Geneva Act of 1999 by filing a single international application.
