Israel approves the Hague Convention

On 3rd January the Hague System will come into force in Israel for the international registration of industrial designs.
This system offers advantages for the registration of up to 100 designs in 70 contracting countries, allowing citizens of all Member States to submit a single international application.
Applications are examined by the local Patent Office in accordance with local law and regulations.
In Israel, industrial design protects the ornamental or the esthetic view of an article and its form.
The protection is valid for 25 years from the filing date.
From January 2020, foreign applicants can submit an industrial design application to their local patent office and also designate Israel.
