Hong Kong – The Companies Amendment Bill

The Companies Amendment Bill, introduced on July 7th, 2010, gives new important powers to the Registrar. The Registrar can now act independently pursuant to court orders to direct an infringing company to change its name. The Registrar has now the power to to target the company’s name with its registration number, in the event that the company has failed to comply with the Registrar’s order to change its name.
