The Consorzio per la tutela del Gorgonzola Dop has filed back in June 2018, in view of a possible Brexit, a national UK trademark to protect the name of its famous blue cheese and has obtained registration in December 2019. Great Britain is the fourth country that buys more Gorgonzola, with more than 1.100 tons and a turnover of more than 7 million euros and having a registered national UK trademark will be, as the Consorzio has commented, an important guarantee for its UK consumers.
