Google in Australia

The Australian High Court admitted Google's appeal against the decision of the Federal Court of Australia which had ruled that Google, by publishing and displaying sponsored links, had incurred in misleading or deceptive conduct contrary to the Australia's Trade Practices Act of 1974. The High Court ruled that the search engine Google was only the means of communication between the advertiser and the consumers, and therefore Google did not create these links. The advertiser was instead considered the publisher of the sponsored links.
