It's legal battle between Elisabetta Dami, the designer of the character "Geronimo Stilton", and Pietro Marietti, the publisher who made the celebrated journalist famous throughout the world. Object of the dispute between the two, already members of the IC-International Characters srl (65% her and 35% him), are the 100 million of royalties for the next 65 years.
In March 2016, the designer sued the publisher before the Court of Milan, feeling penalized for having suffered in 2003 a type of agreement that would have deprived her of any recognition for her artistic activities.
But the story does not end there. In 2016 the company IC resolved a transaction that, in exchange for the transfer by Dami of all the economic exploitation rights of Geronimo Stilton, recognizes a perpetual commission for 65 years, estimated in the actions of the cases in potential 100 million euro . Marietti, complaining that this is a corporate coup, denounces two of the three IC directors for infidelity. The Public Prosecutor's Office, however, has accepted the request of withdrawal of these accusations, leaving a controversy of a purely civil nature residing between the parties, to be resolved accordingly.
