The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (Brazilian PTO) published in the Industrial Property Gazette of May 08, 2018, a new Resolution No. 217/2018 related to fast-track examination of Brazilian Patent Applications related to pharmaceutical products and processes. This resolution broadens the group of diseases to be subjected to the fast-track examination. Indeed it will be possible to request fast-track examination for patent applications related to rare diseases.
