Consultation on the Reform of the UK Designs Legal Framework

The UK government is currently consulting relevant bodies, including the UK Intellectual Property Office, for views on their proposals for potential improvement of the legal framework supporting UK designs. In particular, the UK goverment is proposing amendments that would clarify the scope of protection of design rights, simplify ownership issues, and improve the enforcement regime. The proposals are largely a welcome improvement of the system and we will be monitoring developments closely.
