On last October 5th, the collective trademark "Indipendente, artigianale, una garanzia Unionbirrai " has been registered, and it certifies the craftsmanship and independence of the brewery and beer. This trademark will be issued by Unionbirrai and may be revoked in case of abuse or violation as a result of controls and compliance checks. One of the characteristics necessary to obtain certification is that the requesting brewers must not exceed two hundred thousand hectoliters of production on the basis of the current legislation that defines craft beer. With this logo Unionbirrai wants to offer the opportunity to all Italian brewers to communicate their independence clearly, directly to consumers; for them it will be easier to orientate their purchases clearly understanding what are the real craft beers.
