CHINA: new legal platform for IP

A new search platform for laws and regulations related to IP rights protection and enforcement has been recently launched by Officials from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Commission to China and illustrious senior academics from Beijing University. The platform, named ‘China IP Law Search’, is a free-of-charge search tool designed to help users find and access legal resources on the current IP legislative framework. It enables users to search legal texts in all IP key areas, including patent, trademark and copyright law, customs protection, information on the internet, new plant varieties and unfair competition. ‘China IP Law Search’ is the result of the close co-operation between China and Europe in IP protection and is part of an objective by the Ministry of Commerce to provide widespread public access to IP-related information, both in English and Chinese.
