As dot “yu” disappear, dot “eu” grows

Following by far Balcani’s non recent geopolitical changes, the Internet suffix dot “yu”, meaning Yugoslavia, has been dismissed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the authority in charge of administering domain names on the net. As dot “yu” disappear, dot “eu” grows. As a matter of fact, from December 10th 2009, the “.eu” will support International Domain Names, IDN, making it possible to register domain names with all special characters deriving from the European countries. No changes in registration fees are expected.
