33rd AMERICA'S CUP: ORACLE WINS WITH THE MADE IN ITALY

Double Italian contribution to the recent victory of Team BMW Oracle Racing to the 33rd America's Cup. CMS Industries (Bergamo) and SLAM (Genoa) are indeed two of the companies that cooperated with the owners of the trimaran that won the sailing competition. CMS Industries is an engineering company that manufactures machines and plants for processing of materials (wood, stone and glass), mainly operating in the aerospace, automotive (including F1), eyewear and boating fields. In mid 2008 BMW Oracle Racing has purchased a machine from those produced by CMS to complete the construction of its boat. The other company chosen by the American team was SLAM, which specializes in hi-tech clothing for yachting. For the America's Cup, SLAM has designed a new line of ergonomic and high-performance clothing, suitable for high-level competitions. This cooperation shows how development and research enhance companies' achievements and therefore their turnovers.
