The 10th edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services (NICE Classification) came into force on 1 January 2012 for all new Community trade mark applications. The changes are not great: they mainly concern the addition of some goods and services to the existing classes, and transfer of some goods and services between the existing classes. Community trade mark applications and registrations with filing dates earlier than 1 January 2012 will not be reclassified, nor will they be reclassified upon renewal.
