Nespresso press charges against an Israeli coffee company
Nespresso has sued the Israeli Espresso Club after a the airing of a commercial in which the main actor resembled uncannily George Clooney.
Using an ironic tone, the commercial shows the “fake” George Clooney being stopped – while exiting a coffee shop - by a man who explains to him all the advantages of Espresso Club.
Even though it is clearly stated that he is not the real Clooney, Nespresso has filed a lawsuit against the Israeli company, asking for an interruption of the commercial broadcasting and a compensation of fifty-thousands dollars.
The spokesman from the legal department of Nespresso has explained that the decision of pressing charges was taken in order to prevent a confusion among customers between George Clooney and the Israeli “doppelganger”.
